When Your Toddler Graduates to People Food
After a summer of back-to-back BBQ's and Al fresco suppers newlyweds and new parents Lisa and Mike had put on a few extra pounds. Concerned for her family's health, Lisa sent Chef Kathleen an S.O.S. through her website.
Lisa's letter was typical, said Daelemans. The rules change drastically when you're suddenly responsible for setting an example and preparing three nutritious meals and two snacks a day for a toddler graduating to people food.
Used to skipping meals, grabbing a bite on the run, eating fast food, working long hours and eating late, Lisa and her husband knew they needed to devote more time to cooking and eating at home. "When your own eating habits aren't all that hot to begin with, how do you go from single life dining to preparing a variety of nutritious foods several times a day," the couple wanted to know.
Chef Kathleen paid them a visit . Tune in to hear their conversation and watch as Chef Kathleen whips up a multi-use, two ingredient, two-step (microwave) recipe.
