Is Food Your Best Friend?
By Kathleen Daelemans, from Chef Kathleen's Cooking Thin Daybook: A 52-Week Plan to Lose Weight, Get Fit, and Eat Right
Do you comfort yourself with food? Do you love to eat in bed? Do you eat while you watch TV? Do you eat at your computer? Do you eat in your car? Do you eat while you shop? Do you eat and talk on the phone? Me too.
The key is to get a handle on it, to pick and choose wisely and to make room for the calories you're consuming. If you're an eat-anywhere-but-at-the-kitchen-table type of person, acknowledge this about yourself and make a game plan.
If you've made up your mind that this is the year you're finally going to take the weight off and live the life of your dreams in the body you want with the great health you deserve but you're not quite sure how to go about it, check out Chef Kathleen's Cooking Thin Daybook, A 52 Week Plan to Lose Weight, Get Fit and Eat Right. I wrote it.
I've lost 75 pounds and have kept it off for over 15 years but as you can see, I love to eat well, all the time. Without a game plan, I could easily eat myself right back up to a size 22. I was miserable then. I had very low self-esteem. I wouldn't look at myself in mirrors. I didn't own very many clothes. I hated to go shopping. I really didn't go out much.
I am not willing to go back there. So I keep my plan around all the time. It's sort of like a journal but it's not specific to any day, date or year. I did this on purpose. You can start anytime you want. You can take a break anytime you want. You call the shots. The key to losing weight is learning how to custom create a program specific to your needs.
The book is a 52-week planner filled with all the tools you need to achieve the body you want. It's packed with no nonsense tips on how to create a healthy kitchen environment and how to get and stay in the right mindset no matter what you have going on in your life. Let's face it, a lot of us eat to comfort ourselves. I certainly do.
There are motivational, culinary and fitness tips each week and a scrumptious new recipe. There's always a homework assignment and plenty of space for you to record your daily exercise and eating habits and your weekly goals so you can stay motivated and on track.
