Return to the Spring 2005 edition of Food, Fun, Fitness, Focus

Fun

If the thought of People Magazine's Steven Cojocaru showing up unannounced on your doorstep to evaluate your fitness wardrobe sends shivers down your spine, beat him to the punch. Reevaluate your work out gear. Get rid of anything you'd be embarrassed to wear on live television. Working out in clothes that don't make you feel happy is counterproductive. The message you're sending to yourself is, "I'm not worth it."

"When you look good, you feel good." Feeling great is your right. But it takes some creative thinking and a little effort. Shop out of the box if you're on a budget. Target has some really cute stuff. TJ Maxx and Marshalls carry super cool name brands like Nike, Puma, Reebok and Avia, at deep discounts. How do I know? How do you think I know! And never mind about tearing yourself to shreds in the dressing room. That line of thinking serves no purpose and you know it. Be nice to yourself. Focus on your fabulousness and move along.
